What would you consider it being the best era of the Toyota Camry's?

Me I liked the third generation (1992-96) Camry's the best with the 1995-96 rear end styling being my favorite.

92-96 camry's seem to hold their value pretty good if they were taken care of.

Surely not the current generation. I'd have to say 92-96 as well. They were QUALITY then!

The Toyota's from those years definitely seemed to be built better and they seem to have aged really well over the years, you would think they came out later cause you still see plenty of the early/mid 90s Camry's on the road and many of them are in good shape.

I had a 2nd gen 2.0 5-speed, as did my sister.
Those were very solid cars, they would get MPGs into the 40s.

A friend loved her 1st gen. She could see the trunk out the back window.

You gotta be kidding me about the 2nd generation Camry's getting 40+mpg on the highway, that is very exceptional gas mileage for a compact sized car

The best built Camry's were the 1987-1991 Generation by far. I have had a couple and they really do run forever with almost no problems. A truly bulletproof car! Forget the newer ones, pure junk!! Here are the reviews on the older and newer Camry's. You will see what I mean.....

Great huh? Only one bad review out of 37 reviews. Now look at the newer ones, it gets worse generation by generation....

2002 Toyota Camry Reviews - Carsurvey.org

Now look at the 2006 camry, what happened to Japanese quality. These are no better then a Daewoo....

I had a 92 Camry with the 4 cyl and a 5 speed. Got about 34 mpg on the highway. Had it for 3 years without any problems. Sold it with 135k on it. I have a 98 Camry with the V6 and it has 234k on it. Runs great. We have a 00 Sienna with the same v6 engine and it has 214k on it.
I liked the styling of the 92 - 96 Camry the best...

Not kidding. High 30s was more typical, but under the right and easy conditions 40 and more was possible.

They could probably sell 300,000 of those if they put them (back) on the market today.

They wouldn't get anywhere near that MPG because they'd be significantly heavier due to the added weight of all the extra safety features.
