But seriously the area around the base of some of the tallest skyscrapers in Houston needs to be addressed.
haha, are you serious? downtown Dallas has the same problems as downtown Houston when it comes to that regard. its nice that BOA is trying to finally improve itself, and hopefully some skyscrapers in Houston will take notice, but how long has BOA been sitting there in downtown with a horrible street level entrance and no retail? about 30 years...

At least the owners of the buildings are doing something about it. Even the newer skyscrapers that are going up in Houston are dead at street level. The high-rises that are going up in Dallas are very pedestrian friendly.

That was during a time when developers didn't give a crap about the street-level presence. It doesn't matter at least there's a change in place. The JP Morgan Chase Tower in Houston need a total renovation of the plaza in front of their building. It looks so dead and needs more green space, maybe a cafe.

BTW the BOA Plaza was suppose to have street level retail, a twin tower, and hotel but that was scrapped due to the Savings and Loan Crisis.

this. even dallasboi is willing to admit it. thats not to say that Dallas isnt trying to do something about it, but please dont pretend like Dallas has been on the fore front of vibrant pedestrian friendly downtowns.
