Yeah, but we all know that they're not going to be "equal" for much longer.
why do you say that?

Both Dallas and Houston have great skylines, but I think Dallas is pretty cool at night, especially with the BOA building in the neon green outline, while Houston looks better during the day (if that makes sense).

at night houston cant compete with dallas` skyline. give dallas a few more years. the downtown sector is still growing and they are adding new buildings. ill give it to houston for now, but if dallas keeps building it will pass houston up. i will agree with some of you, they could have done a better job with the over all layout downtown dallas. at night with a full moon and the lights reflecting off the water, breathtaking

Haha, if Dallas keeps on building, it still won't pass up Houston (especially in number of buildings). Houston Downtown vacancy rate is said to be anywhere from 7%-9%. Dallas is upwards around 20%. There was a new building announced yesterday for Downtown Houston (among others). I saw these posted at another forum that I visit often. Here it is (630 feet tall):

Also, Dallas' towers are more in Uptown, than in Downtown.

There's too much bare space in lower/east downtown. All those surface lots are ugly. Houston's skyline is awesome but it has the possibility to be better....let's see what comes of these new projects because I've been reading about all this cool new stuff that's supposed to go up downtown that hasn't come around yet.

Like what? A lot of the stuff is under construction. The Houston Pavilions took up three surface lots; One Park Place took up a small lot; Discovery Green is taking up a parking super block. A lot of the projects Downtown are coming to fruition.

Then there are still a bunch of abandoned buildings that sit on property that deserves a lot better. That old 30-story *Beirut Hilton* a couple blocks south of the Exxon Building on St. Joseph (Calhoun) comes to mind...

I like Dallas' more at night. Houstons in the day. Dallas is more spread out, very fun to be in. The view from the trinity is beautiful. Houstons is beutiful in the day from the parks. They both have great qualities and though both dont have a signiture tower being built, they both are growning quickly with tall yet not giant new buildings.

Dallas skyline isn't spread out at all to me. The buildings all seem close together.
