lol i think thats the point. they werent trying to detract from the look of the original Four Oaks complex too much.. would you rather them just make another replica of the other towers on the complex? its definitely not the sexiest looking new tower thats going up but the height and infill will be nice (though i fear for post oak traffic once these 5+ new towers get built.. they better hurry up with the BRT). i think the top may light up too.

No it just looks like that was the easiest, quickest thing to do. Theyre not making any statements of design, just blending in some more square footage.

A lot of Houston's designs seem that way...unoriginal and blah. Not much architectural quality.

one could say the same about Dallas.. downtown Dallas is filled with boring boxes from the 80s. but we both know that isnt entirely true either. both have their gems and their duds.
