HAHA yeah, right...

As a conservative I'm so sick of Austin being type-casted as this liberal commune because of some kooky college kids and goofy old people living around UT & near South Austin.

What happened was one of them saw a filthy bum begging two gay guys holding hands for change, while a hint of reefer smoke blew through the air. Meanwhile some deranged drag queen was doing jumping jacks in the median of some street nearby.

Therefore Austin = SF.

Just make sure you don't tell them you can find this same display in Houston and Galveston if you go looking for it, or it might spoil the fantasy.

Austin is only slightly more like California than the rest of Texas. It's far from being a 'liberal commune'; after all, it's in Texas. Also, in my experience CA isn't all that liberal overall. Certains parts of it are, but a lot of it isn't.

It's about the fact that someone suggested cutting Austin out of Central Texas for one of the 5 states and selling Austin to California. So it's on topic.

I guess you need to get your head out of the sand, theloneranger. We are already seperated into 5 states if you want to be technical about it. We have five seperate areas already: 1.North Texas,2.West Texas,3.Central Texas,4.East Texas & 5.South Texas.
