Simple question....
If Texas is so great, why do we need Gov. Perry go around making ad campaigns in other states promoting Texas?

If you note he's going to states where the legislature/Governor have recently enacted various anti-business regulations, especially concerning firearms.

One of the targets is MD where Baretta is making products which will be illegal, or almost impossible to buy, in the state come Oct. 1.

He is trying to get more name recognition to improve his chances for another run at the presidency. This way he can get someone else to pay for it.

Even Perry--of whom I am not a fan--would have been vastly, vastly better than what we have in office right now. But that's now a very moot point.

Having said that, I don't think he needs to run again for anything, ever.

I don't understand the complaints - I see tourism ads for California and Denver and Colorado and Michigan and more on tv all the time. What's the difference between begging for vacation time and money and begging for jobs to actually move here? It seems like there's some made up line that you aren't allowed to cross....

He wants to beef up his job creation totals. Texas doesn't have much of a startup culture, so luring established companies here may be an effective way to accomplish his goal.

It sounds to me like he's doing exactly what he was elected to do...part of his job is securing the economic base.

Bringing in established businesses is a great way to diversify the economic base and is preferable than pandering for Federal contracts, which come with strings and can end at any time.

I don't know much about the man yet but I see this action as a very good one.

He's seizing an opportunity that will benefit the whole state for generations....and he's NOT using taxpayers money!
