Oh please. Educated and well traveled Blacks are the main ones who say that dallas lags behind cities like Houston, Atlanta, and dc when it comes to being an attractive place for professionals. Lets not pretend like there arent articles and discussions saying the same.

I get the feeling that Texas is going to secede within the next decade or two, and if so, blacks who live in the state better hurry and pack their bags and leave because they're just sitting ducks otherwise if the white conservatives and Mexicans who live there and dominate the state have their way.
Native Black dallasites do seem to be subservient/country/ mentally stuck but thankfully there are alot of Blacks moving here from other cities (like myself). Most of the Black middle class came here from someplace else it seems.

Please don't generalize everyone as being the same, based on people you came in contact with...

What exactly is wrong with being country? How does country equal subservience?

Dallas has had the 2nd highest growth rate of AA behind Atlanta. It can't be that bad. Just sayin'...

Some Black Americans never cease to amaze me. We raise hell about being racially profiled, stereotyped, and labeled, but if the truth be told we are the biggest instigators of the very issues we accuse others of doing.

For what it’s worth I was born and raised on the East Side of Fort Worth. I hold a bachelor’s degree, a good paying job, and I am currently seeking my masters.

I hear it a lot, and no, I'm not exaggerating.

Thank you for being more sensible and understanding because I was not coming for Dallas at all. I can care less at this point about who is better, but I do hear all the time how Houston is comparable to Atlanta and that it is the blackest city in Texas for our culture.

As for my friends, I think they just may find Houston more black friendly, if you will. They should definitely get to experience Dallas for what it's worth though.

It's a lot here. I was not expecting it to be that much when I moved here. I was shocked and impressed.
