You're in luck! I just happened to read it on the pumps at the station yesterday while filling up. It's 21.4 cents per gallon.

I think the federal tax is around 18 cents.

Default Ethanol Sucks!

Regular Unleaded is $3.15.9 here in Seward, Ak. If you want the BEST mpg,
then AVOID at all cost any fuel with ETHANOL in it...it has less energy content than gas, which causes LESS miles per gallon! Even if you can get it for the same price as gas, you pay MORE, because of the mpg loss. And...the stuff is CORROSIVE to automotive parts and components...it isn't doing your car any good! If your car has (historically) gotten around 20mpg, why on earth would you fill it up with this stuff that will give you around 16mpg? (typical) Avoid ethanol at all costs!

Bud

It's $3.28 in New Mexico. Buying that Geo Metro 10 years ago was the best decision of my life!! Hopefully moving to Tennessee will be another good decision.

I am noticing a huge difference when I buy gas with ethanol in it. The price is much lower but the mpg stinks. There are a lot of gas stations around here that sell it, making it look like the prices are good. I'm sticking to regular gasoline from now on.

Default Gas prices

FYI - Gas was 26 cents a gallon cheaper in the Tri-Cities than up here. $2.79 was the best I saw last week.

Hiknapster, you are correct once again. I have a 3.5 liter V-6 engine. This weekend I got 30.5 mph on I-40 using regular gas, but after mixing some ethanol gas with it the mileage feel to 26.75. With local driving the difference will probably be even greater. I don't even want to know how bad it would be with a whole tankful of ethanol.

I'm glad you responded.

I am having a heck of a time finding REAL gas. I've been buying at Pilot, which is a Knoxville company, but they use ethanol. I bought at Citgo today and as I'm pumping I see something on the pump that says "MTBA." I stopped at $11. I just googled it, and it is methanol which can't be good, either.

Does anyone know what company sells gasoline without this other stuff?

My husband said they've been putting Ethynol in the gas for a long time now. He said the Government has allowed a certain % of ethanol to be mixed with the gas which makes it cheaper for the gas companies so it's unlikely or quite difficult he said that you will find pure gasoline anywhere. Then again, do we really know if it's pure gasoline we're getting if they companies say theirs is pure?
