Also we will be heading out in April,my daughter is 9 and homeschooled ,she is a little outdoor social butterfly,we are looking to make NEW friends and join a support group I saw online. If anyone has any reccomendations or knows of nice places to scout about inform me!! The main reason I am leaving Miami is to give her a better place to live and places to run free...thanks for your help..IR

I don't know anything about homeschooling or umbrella schools or kids, for that matter, but if you go to the Google homepage and type in (with the quotation marks):

"umbrella schools" TN

it seems like there is information out there on this topic.

Lookin,

We'll be there in a couple of months. Our 9 year old and 5 year old are homeschooled as well. There are several umbrella schools that you can join that are set up just for homeschoolers. There is one in Memphis, I can't recall the name, but I believe it is 50.00 a year and they will provide everything you need to be "legal" in TN.

My suggestion would be to get with some local East TN employment recruiters within your fields now if you are moving in April. What fields are you in? I'll see if I can get you some contacts.

Default Hi, MB..You are always so helpful thanks...

I am a dental assistant 17 years exp. and my husband is a sanitation truck driver for the county. I already did some research online for myself it looks like I will have to take some exam with the state (UGH) so that I can work. My husband does not want to work over the road, he wants a local driving job, i am looking into UPS, FEDEX, HomeDepot, ect.. I also would like to rent a house in the area for about a year then buy, rentals are hard to find should I work with a relator? thanks

Your best bet for rental houses is to keep an eye on the local papers, they can all be found on line. As for driving jobs, this is a large hub of trucking activity with 81 and 40 can get you to North/South and East/West so there are lots of manufacturers that use local drivers, there are also companies that hire those who have CDL's to run the in house equipment. Keep an eye on the papers for that too.
Good Luck!
