Just curious, what are Tampians view of the Florida Panhandle? Do you view it as positive or negative, would you consider living there or visiting, what is the general opinion of the Florida Panhandle?

After visiting the Emerald Coast, I moved here! This is what a beach should be like...

The panhandle is useless, backward, and a giant swamp except for Tallahassee.

backwards? sounds good to me! but you cant call the panhandle a swamp, no different from the rest of the state. and why would it be useless?

I like it in that area. The beaches are definitely very nice.

I live about 15 miles from Tampa, but I think the Panhandle is awesome. The best part is Jackson County (Marianna area) due to the hilly terrain, charming small towns, and Florida Caverns.

We drove to Ft Walton Beach from Tampa. Spent a few days there and loved it. The beaches were beautiful and the natives were really nice. Even the tourists were nicer there than here.

I'm a visitor to both areas, but within the past 18 months I've been to PCB twice, Ft Walton/Destin once and Pensacola once...Tampa/St Pete six times...

Panhandle towns/cities I've mentioned...All beaches are the nicest I've ever been too and alcohol is allowed. People seem to be much friendlier. Only negatives, I've been stung 3 times by Jellyfish in PCB...Ocean and air temps are colder than Tampa...

Tampa/St Pete, fort de soto and clearwater beach are still top ten beaches! No alcohol although I heard the treasure coast allows it...Ocean and air temps are warmer and there seems to be overall more to do...Just my opinions based on experiences...
