Well not to be a smart ass, but nothing is free. Yes, K-Wood and Webster schools are heads and shoulders better than all but the choicest few St. Louis City public schools, but home prices and property values are also significantly higher. For some families, especially those with more children, Kirkwood and/or Webster likely make far more sense, but that's definitely not universally true.

I dont mean to offend anyone but St.Louis City Public Schools suck. St.Ambrose is indeed a great school but its not cheap. I live in Kirkwood now and absolutely love it. It is safe, close to highways, beautiful homes...I dont have children but I hear the Kirkwood school district is great and FREE. Webster Groves is very comparable to Kirkwood. Sorry for my spelling.
You are misinformed. There are plenty of great neighborhoods east of Hampton. Boulevard Heights, North Hampton, Southampton, Princeton Heights, Southwest Garden, and Holly Hills are all JUST as safe if not even safer than the neighborhoods to the east of Hampton. In addition there are a number of neighborhoods I'd say are pretty safe in most circumstances (IE: some bad blocks but most are good) such as Lafeyette Square, Compton Heights, Carondelet, Shaw, Tower Grove South, Benton Park, and Soulard.

Kirkwood and Webster Groves are indeed very nice, but someone looking for a more urban setting would prefer the city. There's no need to fear monger or set such an absurd "boundary" as Hampton. Your spelling was fine, by the way.
