The scary thing is it could become a double Novak Slam at Wimbledon.
Novak gets his 3rd multi-Slam year, and becomes the first man to get the AO-RG double in the one year, since Jim Courier in 1992.
Djokovic can completely take Nadal out of the GOAT conversation forever if he wins Wimbledon and US Open this year.

And quite possibly Sampras as well, although Sampras did spend a long time at Number 1 with 6 YE#1s in a row in the 90s,
Novak is almost assured of year end number 1 this year, to make it 5 out of the last 6. (only interrupted by Nadal's stunning 2013 season).
Nadal did spend a long time at Number 2 as well, many of his number 2 years were better than many number 1 years, and he did win at least 1 slam for 10 years straight - so a lot of feats there too.
Getting the CYGS has not been done in nearly 50 years (in the mens), so not counting my chickens as yet - also we saw last year with Serena, after getting the "Serena Slam" - she fell one short of the yearly grand slam.

Sampras was taken out of the GOAT conversation long time ago, and forever. Why is he even mentioned? Federer is clearly better than Sampras, with NO BUTS.

How could Sampras be out of the goat conversation, but Nadal is still in it?
He is original dominant number 1, 6 YE#1s (Federer has 1 less with 5) with nearly 300 weeks at the top, 7 wimbledons etc, and I was never even a fan of his btw.
Sampras > Nadal, and only marginally behind Federer.

She has dual citizenship because her father is from Spain (Basque country). But she was raised in Spain, which is why many label her as Spanish-Venezuelan.

Sampras is out because Federer is clearly better than him. PERIOD!

Nadal is not out of the conversation because he has dominated Federer one-on-one, not just on one big event or two, but for the expand of almost a decade for dozens of finals and semi-finals when it counted most.

Oh, and Djokovic is not out of the conversation, because he dominated the dominator of Federer (and he also dominated Federer one-on-one), and Djokovic is not done yet and still at top.

Nadal's H2H over Federer does NOT put Nadal ahead of Sampras. (just because Fed surpassed Sampras).
That is not how it works.
They both have equal Slams, and Pete is ahead of Nadal on every other score. (bar Olympic Gold medal - which only became a factor in very recent times).
You could argue on Career Grand Slam, but Sampras still trumps with twice as many YE#1's.
I was not even a fan of Pete, but his crushing dominance was unparalleled for the era, did you actually see him play?

Dude, we are talking about number 1. Sampras is not number 1, because no one can disagree that Federer is better than Sampras.

There are plenty of people who disagree that Sampras is better than Nadal. There are plenty of people who disagree that Federer is better than Nadal. There are plenty of people who disagree that Djokovic is better than Nadal. That's why Nadal is still in the conversation of being the GOAT.
