It's music to my ears to hear people finally realize that the EPL is just bags of money with expensive players thrown together with no end product. ESPN put it kindly but they are just slow on the up take. By this time next year the consensus will be the premier league is 3rd best after LA liga and the bundesliga. #FCdebate: Is the Premier League overrated? - ESPN FC

Premier League is mostly failing in the Champions league (ex Chelsea) so far, but, Arsenal should get through and Liverpool still has a good chance, they have Basel and Lud. Both teams are underperforming at this time, for sure.

I believe Everton and Tottenham are leading their groups in Europa, which speaks to depth of the league.

In the end, though, Premier League is struggling.

Only surprise for round of 16 is Liverpool failure, otherwise I think my predictions came pretty close

Liverpool, as has often been the case this season, were dire- really dire and deservedly got knocked out.

Man City got a very good result beating Roma away 0-2 and go through, for the first time, to the knock out stage.

Nope Man City made it to the round of 16 last year and got kicked out by FC Barcelona 4-1 on aggregate. but I take your point that they finally didn't struggle.

I could be wrong but IMO this edition of the CL is becoming a 2 horse race between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Would love my Barca to win but I think no other team has real chances against those 2.

Liverpool, with the way they have been playing, had no business in the CL. And I love the club. I hate to bag on one player, but good lord, Rickie Lambert is just pathetic. Joe Allen not much better.

Barcelona vs. City and PSG vs. Chelsea, a repeat from last year, are by far the most balanced matches in the round of 16. Piece of cake for Real, Bayern, Arsenal. Porto should be able to advance, I think Atl. Madrid and Juventus should advance as well, though won't be easy.
