The closest BJ's is off the 213 exit from 75 (University Ave., & Lakewood Ranch exit). It's a 40 minute ride from North Port............sorry.

You might want to consider a Sams Club or a Costco - Costco is in Ft. Myers. I always liked them better anyway.

There's also a B.J.'s in Fort Myers off the Coloniel Dr. exit.

I have to admit the Walmart in North Port is one of the best I've ever seen.
It's new, clean, workers are friendly, and I've never had to wait in line for anything.

I've been using them plus Publix (which is not cheap, but a great market) for just about everything.

Oh, there is a new Dollar Store in the Publix Plaza at Toledo Blade. You'd be surprised what you can pick up in there for a buck.

There are also two farmers markets in North Port where you can buy fresh veggies and fruits. I used to buy them at Publix for triple the price. One is located by Shark's Restaurant and the other is located next to where the old post office is.

The one by Shark's is closed Sat but open Sunday and the one by Wachovia is open Saturday and closed Sunday. They are both open Mon-Fri until at least 6pm. One of them is open until 7pm.
