I remember the Heidelberg castle. I also used to go to Merlin's and the crown lounge. Also I still have my 95YNF tee shirt the rock and roll pirates with Ron and Ron in the morning. I also went to club Mary a few times as a younger guy. LOL. There was a great place to eat in the 80s at the Sarasota Square mall. It was German food and had beer and the best sandwich the Red Baron with the Blue Max close behind. I am sure it was called Dunderbachs.

I miss Geech's BBQ, their ribs with the special mustard sauce. Haven't found a BBQ joint since that does ribs as well.

Would love to see any additional photos. I wish I had one going west on Fruitville Rd toward downtown before the new sky line Ritz etc. Does anyone possibly have photos of the old Winn Dixie area on Fruitville? What about the cool little pharmacy next door with a soda fountain in it?

As do I. If I recall correctly, it did not have tables for seating but, rather, a counter/bar. I'm not real big on German food. I forget what I used to get there. But it was good. I remember the first movie that I saw at the movie theater at Sarasota Square: Star Wars.

As an old rock 'n' roller, my buddies and I used to hang out in Camelot Music a lot. I rode a motorcycle and used to carry LP's home (years before CD's) tucked up under the front of my shirt.

I LOVE the photos. While I did not grow up in Sarasota (we vacationed there in the early 70s), I couldn't wait to move there after college. I vacationed there yearly until I moved there in 1991; I left in 2008 for a job (then Mr. Right). Oh how I miss it.
