I sure don't want the Chargers to leave, but I don't want my and the other taxpayers dollars go to a new stadium. I understand the need of having a new stadium but I think that the Spanos and other owners need to find money elsewhere for a new stadium. Aside from that, what do you think will happen to Qualcomm? New condos/apartments perhaps more shopping? Like Mission Valley needs more of that stuff...the traffic through there is already insane!

The past few years we have had almost no blacked out games. This season we have had 3 blacked out games. The dumb thing is that every Charger game reaches 60,000 fans. 63,000 fans is the maximum for the stadium. I went to two of the blacked out games this season and both had over 62,000 fans in attendance with a couple hundred seats open. It is stupid to blackout games when there are only a few hundred open. Raiders and Jaguars as well as other teams, average only 30,000-35,000 a game which is a lot bigger than a few hundred or a few thousand fans missing. The economy is partly to blame as well as the ticket prices.

I would like to see the whole property turned into a river front park open to the public since it's a large area and it is right on the San Diego river. Of course, that won't happen since developers literally own the city council so the council does what the developers pay them to do. I'm sure it will be turned into a shopping mall and they'll pack in as many apartments as they possibly can.

They haven't been blacked out because they get bought up at the last possible minute. If they increase the seating size on a new stadium that blackout count will go even higher. Look at the Padres. When was the last time they filled up the stadium?

Why do I have this feeling some developer will try to saddle the clean up costs on the tax payers.

That's exactly what will happen and the city council will agree to it because they've been paid very well by developers to always say yes.

With the Padres AGonz now gone, the Chargers might as well got too. SD will always be a 2nd rate sports city. Just look at the SD Hall of Champions in Balboa Park for proof, or the SD Sports Arena or Quallcomm.

Actually, SD has had some golden moments from Air Coryell & Dan Fouts, Bill Walton, Tony Gwynn, Padres past their prime (Garvey, Gossage, Nettles, Wells, Winfield), Ted the Kid Williams, the NYC marathon winner last year, Tomlison, Bell and Hoffman,
