Yes it was there around 2001, I remember going to a birthday party there once. Remember the old warehouse grocery store on Flores and Military?

It looked just like the Windsor Park mall movie theater.

That's where the Solo Serve was before it was Mr. Gatti's. Remember, they moved Solo Serve to SPM. It wasn't there very long before it went out of business.

I LOVED Solo Serve. There were plenty of bargains, but you had to be careful, otherwise, you'd end up with stitching in an odd place! *lol*

The old warehouse grocery was owned by Handy Andy I think . It was at Roosevelt and Military. I remember it. Lived two blocks behind it at the time.

Trying to remember if anything was where Solo Serve was before Solo Serve. Went in it once or twice maybe. They used to be downtown only next to the old downtown Sears I think.

My parents were coming out of that store one night when someone tried to steal my mom's purse. My dad was pushing the basket and rammed it into the jerk, who ran off into the night. Nothing like a little excitement while grocery shopping....

The downtown Solo Serve was on Soledad by the Mexican Manhattan. I did my shopping there when I worked downtown.
