Are you serious about it closing???? Karam's has good food, and it's a nice place for lunch.

Gee, after over 2300 posts to this thread, you could've figured out what the hubbub is all about!

By the way, what's all the hubbub with the magenta text?

Cheers! M2

Yep, I know some members of the Karem's family and they had sold the building months ago. It's going to be torn down for either an office or condo center, I forget which.

Basically, all the children of the original owners have now all become doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc., and no one is really interested in continuing in the restaurant business. It's a shame, that restaurant probably helped pay for their education in the first place. I think all family-owned restaurants eventually reach a critical mass and either have to sell out to a corporation eventually (like Taco Cabana) or close their door's because the children have moved on to bigger and better things.

I was downtown on Christmas day and noticed the Salt Grass Steakhouse at the river level of the Casino Building. Does any body remember what this was before?

I was a little bummed. Salt Grass, Rainforest Cafe, Joe's Crab Shack.......is the city selling the riverwalk to the Laundry's Corporation?

This just hit me...remember I said I once saw Red Fox (Fred Sanford)...at Handy Andy in the Colonies North Mall. Look at who is the up coming performer at Turtle Creek Country Club!

To hell with the Da Vinci code...we are finding clues to our own past here in SA!

This IS cool!

Has anyone mentioned Fletchers yet? LOL I know that was all like late 80's early 90's but I'm a little younger than some of you I think....

Yes do remember Fletchers, The fried stuffed jalapenos, yummy!
Was scrolling the channels last night after the Cowboys joke, Sound of Music was on ABC. I remember driving a 2 lane 410 every morning wondering when the marquis would finally change. I think it ran over a year at Cinema I or II right?
