Verizon FiOs for the win. Just dumped Time Warner. Dallas has its perks.

Hmm, remind me not to do that again. I did 3 tests before rebooting the modem. My download speeds were 6.87 Mbps, 6.42 Mbps and 4.75 Mbps. My upload speeds were all consistent at .97 Mbps. My ping times were 25, 26 and 27 ms. I rebooted the modem and my computer, and did three more tests. My download speeds are now 2.33 Mbps, 2.56 Mbps and 2.52 Mbps. My upload speeds were still pretty consistent at .97 Mbps. My ping times were also consistent at 27 ms. So instead of getting a speed increase of up to 50%, I got a speed decrease of over 60%. Gee thanks Time Warner, don't give me any more gifts like this in the future please.

You can get a 3Mb/s variance doing two tests back to back.

So far I have seen no discernible difference

My download doubled to 20Mbps but my ping and upload remained the same. My upload is just under 1 Mbps.

Looking at everyone's download speeds makes me think I have a serious problem. I'm getting just over 2.5 Mbps now, and before I rebooted I was getting just under 7. I was starting to wonder if this applied to basic internet, and I went back and looked at the page and it says basic internet? Hmm, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that my services is with Earthlink, although Time Warner provides everything; I even pay my bill to Time Warner.
