In my time with dealing with both TWC and ATT Uverse... I prefer Uverse over TWC.. I have had many problems with TWC to include changing of boxes ungodly amounts of time. If you have a choice and currently I do not as I am sucking it up with TWC and dealing with constant pixling and freezing on my HD channels. I would go to Uverse..

They were doing a software/firmware update yesterday, my TWC was down and later it came up, my DVR had a newer/different interface.

Yeah they got a new platform it looks like.. lets see if it helps with the pixling and digital freezing on HD. So far I cant say.

DirecTV cannot be beaten. All TV companies are money hungry, and I hate them all, but DirecTV gives more for your money than any of the other sorry SOBs.

When Grande Cable first hit town, they were GREAT, but they're maybe slightly above Time Warner for their service now. I still have their Internet service, and their phone service is good. I will never change the package from what I have though, because if I change anything, the regular, reliable phone service I have now will be changed to VoiP service like Time Warner's.

As one of the biggest Directv fanboys around even I will admit that DTV's DVRs are dogs with the new HDGUI. Ive learned to live with it, but it gets pretty damn slow on occasion.

After their software updates, two of them, I have voice over for some reason, as for sight impaired people. Finally rebooted the box and it went away. Called TWC and they had never heard of such a thing, did not know how it happened, did not know how, through settings to make it happen or unhappen.

I switched to Uverse from Time Warner because I had too many problems with poor signal or complete signal loss. They came out several times, rewired, added powered amplification, etc, etc. Uverse has been great. The only issue is that our Uverse box seems to have problems with frequent reboots. Of course, the DVR is stocked full with the wife's shows otherwise, I'd swap out.

TW has been sucking for the last couple weeks.. we have had short term outages nearly every day. My wife works from home, has a dedicated business internet line and it has interrupted her work many times at huge inconvienence and cost. I'm ready to call them and rant and demand a partial refund. We have had technicians out here a few times who just scratched themselves and say 'everything looks good.. I tightened your connections and ran tests and youre on our watch list so we will notify you if there is any drop in service'.... yeah, whatever... FIX IT!
