From Mysa:
Alamo Bowl headed for historically strong rating

Overnight television ratings indicate that Thursday’s Valero Alamo Bowl will likely end up among the top five most-watched games in the 19-year history of the bowl.

Baylor’s pulsating 67-56 victory over Washington earned a 4.5 overnight rating, which ESPN officials said was up 50 percent over the bowl’s 2010 ratings for Oklahoma State’s victory over Arizona.

Those numbers traditional rise when they are finally broken down. And because of that, Alamo Bowl officials are confident that that game will be among the highest in its history when they learn their final ratings perhaps as soon as Friday night.

The first Heisman Trophy winner to play in the Alamo Bowl was a contributing factor.

Absolutely no defense played whatsoever. Hence a score that looked like a basketball game. Whoever gets Griffin in the NFL will be lucky. Pretty good game though.

Not sure where that 4.5 rating comes from. According to the Nielsens it scored a 2.1 (6.9mil viewers)
