Starbucks hires a lot. You might also fill out apps online with Home Depot and Lowes, although I'm not sure if they are hiring right now. They will do part-time schedules, but depending on the particular store, you may have to work whatever schedule they give you.

Really, I'd put in an app at all of the big retailers.

Traditionally the State of California had lots of positions budgeted for student assistants. For student employment they tended to pay fairly well and generally were pretty good about working around your schedule.

Its probably also worth contacting SMUD and the various phone companies for that type of office work as well. But you will have to contact them directly instead of through the CSUS foundation.

If you are willing to wake up early or stay up really late, both Fed Ex and UPS tend to pay pretty well. A lot of those jobs require that you are able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Lastly, you might look into being a bell hop at a hotel. Basically you drive people to and from the hotel from the airport. Because its a position that requires you to help people with luggage, its a job that generally goes to guys and you get a fair amount of tips. But you need a clean driving record.
