Hi all! I'm a college senior in Ohio looking to move to an area around Sacramento providing my dream job comes through. I was raised a suburban girl and would like a similar experience in California. A nice mix of city and suburbia life would be ideal, maybe with a younger population. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? It would be greatly appreciated!

Oak Park is basically Sacramento's version of Youngstown, just less abandoned buildings and more crime/gang activity. Usually the troll doesn't post anything but aerial shots of its least favorite thing, suburbs.

Sacramento's suburbs are mostly older and more family-oriented, so if you want a mix of urban you want to be near downtown/midtown. Up to you on how close close means. If working downtown, the Pocket area and Natomas are both close, and suburban. South Natomas gets kind of grungy but the rents are cheaper. Both pocket and Natomas are in Sacramento, but Sacramento is mostly suburban. A little pricier than most of Sacramento, but you get what you pay for. East Sacramento and Land Park are both older suburbs (streetcar suburbs) but they're pricey and don't really have many apartments. Elk Grove isn't bad but the commute is longer.

In what part of town is your dream job? If we have a rough idea of the work location we can point you towards nearby neighborhoods that might be suitable. And it's not just the California motto, but a worldwide one--want to live a happier life? Have a short commute!
