Are you agreeing that Hochel took Rochester's share of Casino revenue, and put it towards Buffalo's stadium?
What the show host is saying is that the money the Senecas were slated to give to the state from an agreement they had from a portion of their gaming revenue was used for the Bills stadium. In turn, there was a likely deal that Hochul had with the Senecas to have them get the casino in Rochester that they wanted all along. The issue appears to be that there was a lack of or no communication with local officials in regards to this likely deal. So, like the show host, that I agree with and believe happened. That means that Rochester likely has been in play for something in relation to the Senecas agreement with the state, along with their revenue helping to get the new Bills stadium going.

I guess I'll try again. Couldn't get anything from the host. Seems like he was more interested in being dramatic, than factual. Anyway, as the current agreement covers NYS west of rt. 14, I believe that Rochester and suburbs were granted a cut, casino or not.

A cut from what? The agreement was between the Senecas and the state in terms of revenue sharing. I’ve actually posted information about this on threads in the NY forums in the past. This previously posted segment may clarify what I’m referring to: https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/ce...4564%20million.
Where the Rochester casino idea likely comes in, is in terms of the compact the Senecas have to run casinos within a 14 county region(WNY), which includes Rochester. So, this is something that was apparently discussed, but without local officials in the loop. Meaning, it isn’t so much about Rochester getting funding related to the situation, but that this deal just wasn’t discussed properly or at all in regards to local officials.

You got THAT right. The appearance is that at sometime in the past, the Seneca Nation quietly bought a plot of land, didn't really disclose their plans, recently decided to build a casino, and the Governor said, "Go right ahead", with the local people being left out of the loop.....

What's really sad is that our own governor wanted this in Rochester, knowing full well that it would remove wealth from the citizens of Rochester and NYS, and put it in the hands of the government of NYS. It's bad enough, than there are so many other casinos, racinos, or whatever, but why doesn't our government want THE PEOPLE to thrive??? The state would do much better if the people thrived.

As I said, once before.......And we thought Cuomo was bad! But on the other hand, maybe Cuomo just didn't have enough time, to "get the job done".
EDIT: And one other thing, you get what you vote for!!! Too bad those that elected her, didn't realize that she was the proverbial "wolf in a sheep's clothing".......

To be honest, I think the Senecas wanted to put the casino in the city and as a part of the deal with the state for giving a portion of their revenue.
Plus, it would be viewed as creating jobs for people in the city.

Problem is, we always hear the phrase, "job creation", in order to justify the loans, permits, and bulldozing of land. But far too often, those jobs aren't long lasting. The "newness" of the mall, casino, small factory, etc wears off, the employers start trimming back staff, and poof, the "newly created jobs" are gone.....

Government really shouldn't be in the business of "job creation". they should create an atmosphere where private citizens feel comfortable starting businesses. The democrat side believes in creating more regulations to create jobs. Electric car, stoves, etc.....
