This "governor" does not care one bit, what her constituents want. Everything is You WILL follow my rules. She almost lost the election. You would think she would understand why. I guess not. Force everything through as fast as you can, because next election, you're done.
She can't wait to suck a few hundred million $$$ out of Rochester.
And we thought that Cuomo was bad!!!
Although she almost lost the election, I'm sure that in her mind, she won, AND crushed the opposition, therefore, she WON, and is everyone's dream Governor.....so, it's "game on", and we're screwed.
So, in some of the dialog, that Rochester is owed millions from the current agreement, but I think Hockel gave it to Buffalo for the stadium.
I believe the deal was that the Senecas wanted to build a casino in Rochester in exchange for the money they gave to the state, which ended up being used for the stadium. It seems like the state messed up by not being local politicians to the table or at the very least something was lost in terms of communication between officials.

That seems to be the way things are now. No debate. People are powerless. Local representation is powerless. It is all top down. And none of it makes any sense.

As the old saying goes, "just follow the money"..........
Similar to how the Wilmot clan got their permit for Del Lago, they've given millions in political donations over the decades. I figured Del Lago was their "out" regarding much of their CRE holdings, and sure enough they've offloaded quite a few CRE properties of theirs since buileing the casino. I just have a problem with the cronyism and corporate welfare that goes along with such risky projects, in fact I thought it was Del Lago which got a bailout from NYS in recent years.

I believe Wilmorite sold Del Lago, or their share about a year ago.
