To dismiss an entire generation based on some stereotypes is divisive and helps nobody.
We (wife and I) have 3 millennial children who are educated, successful and respectful of us (as we are of them).
Every generation leaves a mess behind for the next. I want to give my children the best future I can possibly give. Name-calling isn’t going to solve any of the unfinished business.
I posted a thread on this to another forum last week. I am a boomer - I think it's dumb, AND I understand it. The millennials have been whipped by boomers for their lack of motivation, etc. - and now they are standing up, asserting themselves. We kind of did the same thing in response to the "establishment."
It is a very dismissive phrase.
It must be horrible, though, to see old people wherever you go - and the old drivers are getting ridiculous - so many of them (us) and they are just going to get older and older and more dangerous on the road, and more irritating, in general.
Pretty sure the millennials would like to see us dead sooner rather than later.

I'm Generation X. We typically just go to work in our middle management jobs, where we're the ones who actually get things done by working around the entrenched Boomers and the entitled Millennials. We typically get left out of all the social chatter surrounding Millennials vs. Boomers. We're too busy paying our bills and our taxes and getting stuff done to worry about whether someone else's feelings are hurt.

Ha...middle management doing all the work? You mean sitting in meetings all day coming up with crazy ideas (ish) at 10,000 ft. that you leave for your underlings to actually figure out how to implement. But yeah, good try.
Aren't these terms primarily used for marketing and advertising purposes? We're all just people of different ages...and certainly unique as individuals, at all stages of life. The generation labels and their definitions are just exaggerations and generalizations of beliefs and behaviors, due to experiences of the different age groups. Kids will have a whole lot of similarities to their elders as age.
