Yes there are flash floods, and they are pretty common, yet don't you find it a bit strange that many of the stories always involve a large boat that was constructed to protect one man and his faimly.
There are just way to many common points to the story reveal by so many around the world.
(Destruction by water. Divine cause. Warning given. Humans spared Animals spared. Preserved in a vessel.) The common aspects to this story has been presevered by the following people, and countries.
Australia-Kurnai, Bolivia-Chiriguano, Borneo-sea Dayak, Burma-Singpho, Canada-Cree, China-Lolo, Cuba-original natives, East Africa-Masai, Egypt-Book of the Dead, French Polynesia, Guyana-Macushi, Iceland-Eddas, India-Andamam Islands, India-Bhil, India-Kamar, Iran- Zend-Avesta, Italy-Ovid's Poetry, Mexico-Codex Chimalpopoca, New Zeland-Maori, Peru-Indians of Huarochiri, Russia-Vogul, Alaska-Tlingit,Arizona-Papago, Hawaii-legend of Nu-u, Vietnam-Bahnar, ect.
So do you believe that all these people in the past made up a story that involve a God warning mankind of a great flood, and when the flood came it was caused by divine intervention, and a vessel was constructed, and it was filled with animals, and a small company of humans only survived because the were kept safe in this large vessel? So your telling me all these people made this story up and kept it in their oral tradition, and just by chance it appears that all these people all over the earth pretty much made up the same story?
Funny how you like to use all these cultures to push a global flood idea, but you ignore the part about the gods of those cultures.
No one is arguing about construction of a vessel to save yourself and loved ones including pets.
But what we arguing is a 450 ft boat carrying all the living breathing creatures in the world. That's a myth that you and alike believe. There are differences, you see.
you may need to read the story, its not every living creature in the world...

So you are saying all these flood myths are true? If that is the case then Noah and his family had lots of help repopulating the world.
By the way almost every culture has God myths as well, that doesn't make it true.
Well, pardon my ignorance, how many creatures then, just select few??
Clean animals... sheep, cows, certain birds etc... 7
Unclean animals... pigs, birds of prey, dogs, cats, etc... mating pair.
No sea life.
The point wasn't to get every creature, it was to supply for the area that they were to re populate.
In answer to the thousands of species... Do we really think that God can't make more animals any time He wishes. I think He makes new species all the time. He is a creator, why would He stop creating?

I'm confused, first of all clean/unclean animals, what does that mean???
Second, if you only populate areas with pigs, where did other animals come from?
I see, after Noah landed with limited amount of species, god started to create new ones? Is it in the wise book somewhere?
And what does this proof exactly?
I'm wondering what is deep down at the bottom of the ocean, where no one can see.
Cute fellas!!
