I suppose I am feeling charitable tonight. Otherwise I wouldn't let you in on a secret. Often we will pretend not to understand just to see someone scramble to explain what they meant. It is a way to turn the joke back onto the person who started the joke. This works for most people (except maybe for the Choctaw).....and we only do that with family, close friends and other kin.

Thanks, Goodpasture. Even in my own family I am often considered just a tad off plumb. Only with those who's respect I wish to keep will I explain. Otherwise, that just makes it all the better. I also try to keep in mind that the printed word dosen't convey emotion too well.

Antler hunting is going better now that the snow is finally melting enough to see them. I have collected 31 deer antler sheds and 1, 6 point Elk antler from last year's shedding, I walked to the top of a mountain to find it, I had seen that Bull last year, right in that place, but I thought someone else had recieved his rack when it fell, but apparently not. Had to carefully navagate my way back out carrying the beam, it weighed at least 10 lbs and must be 55 inches in length. yahoo! I am having a good time, and I am a cheap date, lol. Never a hunt without a story to tell.

Lol OrionsAngel, I do enjoy your posts. What a wonderful feeling of freedom it is to be able to trek the mountains. I have done that many times here mostly just to be alone with my creator and to refresh my soul when the world starts to fence me in with all the noise.

.May I ask what you do with the antlers?

Aye Miss Blue, the only thing I can say about my antler obsession is that it does a body good , I dream of Moose sheds, but have never found any yet. In my dream, they are so huge I have to build something like a travoi to drag them out of the place where I will find them. My body frame is small and I dont have tons of strength but I do get around. I do love climbing mountains, and it is my expressed freedom that doesn't cost me money to do except a bit of gas money. I have had to sell them in the past, the going rate per pound can add up nicely. If a person is so blessed to find a Monarch trophy size set of Elk antlers can hold the potential income to buy a new truck, which I would really love since my bush bashin machine is tired and nearly worn out, lol. I try to gather enough of the same size to make a nice chandelier, and I would really love to make myself a chair. But I think I have a connection to the deer and elk, I am facinated to see how healthy they are and that measures nature of how my year might go, if animals are healthy, we shall be healthy. I love to study them, their shape, color, size, where I found them, when and under what condition they were in at the time. I nearly conclude that they fall when their DNA message tells them to, like it must take so many days of growth, then the blood stops feeding them, they dry and the new growth begins making them try to get them off, or they are just ready and fall where'air they are, but I do find they like a traditional place to drop them. I conclude they don't want to drop them in their beds (although it happens), but I am thinking they do not want to attract any attention, so they come out of hiding to a place to shed and return to safety, since they are their weapons, the animal is vulnerable and must hide from their buddies, then they grow new about an inch a day til the bigger next round begins...circle of life ya know. Anyway, it seems I was born to be a forensic sort of investigator and I love the journey. or ritual if you will

And here I was feeling kinda proud of bicycling south from the Santa Monica pier to the channel at Marina Del Ray, back to the pier, continuing northwards to Sunset Boulevard, and then back to the car. Distance -- 15.3 miles. Guess I'm a wimp...

Good on ya, OrionsAngel!

Don't much care to be celebrating a former German dictators birthday, much prefer celebrating a jazz greats birthday instead.....
