If the population continues to explode, I don't see how our polluted earth will continue to sustain life. Also, the proliferation of nuclear arms makes the world extremely dangerous for the survival of mankind. There is something known as the 4th turning that you may also want to consider: Coming crisis and The Fourth Turning
while it is true that one day all life on Earth will end and even our planet Earth will come to an end. but so far no one can give an accurate date.Probabaly the best we can say is it will end sometime between tomorrow and 20 beillion years from now with any date and time being a possibility.
From Christian and Islamic views nearly all of the predicted signs have passed. But we still do not know except that each minute brings us closer.
But I see little need for concern, it is going to happen even if we do not know when. If we are not prepared now, we probably never will be.

I think it's wishful thinking on some people's part. I feel sad for those people because they feel life is just too hard for them. Thier world is full of doom & gloom & not much else.

Really? According to the Bible?? Tell us, oh wise one, that the Bible says that in the year 2011 we are in some sort of "end times."
After all, how do you know that the Bible is actually referring to the year 2279??
Geez, it seems that the "End Times" have been predicted by believers for AT LEAST several hundred years. What makes you think "God" has chosen YOU to be among the surviving believers?
I thought a day was "as a thousand years to the Lord."
The last days could potentially take a few million years here!
