Sorry folks. But until I am given verifiable, testable evidence of life on other planets I am not gonna buy into the belief system that says "there is life on other planets".

To my layman's brain, scientists may believe in the probability and actively work toward making discoveries of life on other planets when there's prior knowledge that gives supporting evidence for it. Who is saying that you must believe in life on other planets?

Oh, and here's an article on a recent NASA finding. It's fascinating to think of the possibilities that science may uncover!

Hebrews 11:1 says: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Why would you believe in something that is lacking what you consider to be convincing evidence? That would be stupid. If it isn't convincing to you, then you wouldn't/shouldn't believe it. I feel the same way when it comes to belief in god.

I would not be sure why really, but I do recognise that there may be few other fora to choose from to post such an topic. Hardly the most important part of my post to be bothered replying to though.

I just think it dangerous to conflate the discussion of religion and alien life, merely by means of the use of the word agnostic, when the claims are entirely different and although both claims are unsubstantiated at least one of the claims.... by way of our own existence.... at least has evidence for its credibility if not its actual truth.

Recognising that difference is not likely something theists, or even people clinging to the label agnostic, are likely keep to do, but I think it worth highlighting all the same.
