If it's the latter, then what does that suggest about gender identification?

Why are some people comfortable to be gay, while others feel as though they have to proceed with sex change procedures too?

These are genuine questions I wonder, not leading ones...
Being gay and wanting to be the opposite sex have nothing to do with each other. A gay man who wants to be with men, is happy being male, he just wants his love relationships to also be with men. Your gender and our sexuality are two different things.

From what I have seen, with people who are transgendered, in the mind of the person, they feel like their bodies are a lie, they feel like their brain is one sex while their body looks like another. In people with chromosomal anomolies this is understandable but from what I understand these cases are in the minority.

I simply accept that not everyone is (content with being a heterosexual man) like me.
Well as I stated in a different thread, I accept also that I don't understand it and just do my best to respect people's personal wishes on the matter.

But I posed the question in relation to society and labels. People go so far in the direction of "No labels!" to a point that I personally think is a little extreme. However if labels are really just social constructs that limit us, then I do wonder if people who support this notion ALSO believe that people who live as the opposite "sex" they were born are merely negatively impacted by societies labels towards gender (and shouldn't, therefore, feel the need to identify with looking like a "man" or a "woman").

I dunno.
Only from a sexual perspective do I label people male or female.
I mean if the woman I have a relationship with hasn't told me from the beginning that she was born as a man (or hermaphrodite) and had a sex change operation I would feel that as a betrayal of trust.

Whether men are allowed to cry and such does not concern me at all.
I know that I am a man so whether society labels me as female or a girly man is irrelevant to me.
