The OP is referring to all the posters on here obsessed with certain races and types of people. He's wondering why all the idiots come here and ask "how do I get latina women?" "how do I pick up a white girl?" "I think black women are hot, how do I get them?"
OP, I like your post... and yes I agree people here can be ridiculous. You pick up all women the same way. By talking to them and treating them well.
They would date the great catch but shy guy if he'd give them a chance. If he doesn't approach them, they don't know he exists. He needs to approach them, as the OP said.
Yes, not initiating an interaction is a major impediment. IMO, it's the single largest reason for my dating life being less active than I'd like it to be.

As for the OP: yep. It's all about "types." We've been down this road before. If someone is not your "type," you don't need to hit on her for practice. If you are not her "type," you won't be dining together. People need to learn that some people on this planet will NOT intersect, no matter how hard they try. The sooner one learns that, the more "liberated" they will become and the more rationally they will allocate their time and resources.
