Has there ever been a time where a guy was actually able to get a woman's attention with a pick up line?

What do women think of them?

No.

Why don't you try a few at your local bar and find out first hand how most reasonable people respond to canned lines. Go ahead...oh and film the results and post it on youtube so I can appraise it later for my amusement.

"Are you hitting on me? Because it's working."

Surprisingly I got a date from that.

No but actions work. Actions of kindness.

LOL! That is pretty funny. It might work on me.

I think generally speaking no. But the right time. The right person. The right delivery. It might work.

Increase your odds by keeping it simple, and sticking with "Hi."

Yeah it really has to be done on the right person in the right way in the right situation. The lady I said it too is really down to earth and has an excellent personality and is never awkward when in conversation, so she loved it.

"Hi" is good. "Hi" works.

From what we're told, "Which brand of yogurt do you recommend?" also works, at the right time, right place.

They worked on me in clubs/bars that it opened up dialogue. The guy fed me the line, I gave back a smart a$s remark with a smile (if I was attracted to him) and conversation ensued from there.

I would respond positively to that. Funny.

There's a right way to use lines and an oh-so-wrong way...

I don't know..."Hi" is so boring and is easy to blow off. I think a guy has a better shot of opening dialogue with a question or a comment, whether it be with a pick up line or genuine interest.
