Well, last night after work I primed for 8 hours. Today I painted for about 10.

It's done. I am exhausted.

You know what you SHOULD have done ...

LOL just kidding!!

It does look better, OP. It is more unified, with much less contrast against the painted white fireplace.

Nice job.

Looks great!

It looks bigger, in the lighter color. Less fancy, but more universal appeal.

If someone likes your house, it is easy enough to change the colors if they want to bad enough. Don't worry about that.

We totally redecorated our current house. It had wainscoting and two kinds of fussy wallpaper on almost every wall. It was awful. We bought the house because it met our needs. Somewhere out there is someone who will see your house as an answer to needs.

Good luck!

That is bizarre. The mods merged my threads with a thread from 2007 which is 2 houses ago.

Okie dokie.

Paint looks good. You need different counter stools. The black metal stools are too Mediterranean for the room. Also need a woven area rug with some of the green and brown in it and some glass and ceramic assessories on the countertops, maybe a nice piece of pottery or two that North Carolina is so famous for.

Trying to sell our home right now--when we painted to a more neutral beige, we even liked our own house better.

We're concurrently trying to buy a house as well. My wife and I are artsy types who can clearly visualize what a house would look like with different paint schemes (and we also realize that most people actually can't do that).

Yet, we do find that when we walk into a house with garish colors that it throws us off a bit. "Move in ready" is a very strong selling point.

And no shade of green is really a "move in ready" color for most folk, especially not in a kitchen.

The kitchen looks better, but I personally still dont like a green kitchen. But it would be much easier for me to buy it now and deal with that color later than how it was before. At least this way it isnt something that has to be done RIGHT NOW.
