Sadly, though, I hear more about crime here than I did in Los Angeles. And with the financial crisis worsening, it might actually get worse. Time to up the ante by supporting law enforcement a bit more with the means to prevent and punish such behavior.
There's more crime here than L.A.? Are you serious? I hope that's not what you're insinuating. Raleigh has a fairly low crime rate. Our city gov't and police department, does an excellent job when handling crime.
Although I have not been to this particular address, every time I hear Capital Blvd this is the sort of thing that comes to mind. I always try to avoid Capitol Blvd for many reasons. Not good!

Reason: Clarification, as NRG made a valid point.

You clearly have never been to this area. It's pretty nice. Should a person avoid MacGregor Downs in Cary becuase of the random act of violence that occured there recently? I think not. Bad things can happen in nice places. You need to get out more my friend.
Not too many of the forums for other cities have folks so willing to post every illegal incident that occurs. Although in this case it is by someone who isn't even from the city mentioned. Trying to make Wake Forest more appealing by running Raleigh down.. me thinks.
Yeah, I think the situation is overblown. But, I'm glad to see the concealed carry classes at the Wake County Firearms Education/Training are bustling with new folks eager to earn their right to carry heat.
Capital Blvd is a long road that goes through several parts of Raleigh and Wake Forest, with that in mind it’s difficult to paint the whole thoroughfare with the same brush. I will say that the shopping center in which this theater is located is generally an extremely safe place.
My belief is that the incident at the movie theater is more so a reflection on the present state of the economy rather than an indicator of where the Wakefield crime scene is going. Times are tough and desperate people are going to do whatever it takes to make ends meet.
I've lived about 2 miles from the shopping center anchored by Kroeger and Wakefield Cinemas for almost two years and have never even felt one second of an unsafe environment. Isolated incident, hopefully they put this person away quickly and that's that.
