Reason: more info...
I've scoured the internet trying to find an update on when the Aldi in Wake Forest is scheduled to open... The building is making progress, but I was wondering if anyone has heard/knows when it is scheduled to have its grand opening?
I have eye balled the sign in the window from the street as I passed by a couple of times. Tough to read but I think I have it.
Ok just back from Aldi. The store is clean and bright. It is warehouse-y which I don't like. But, the prices for canned goods and such are excellent so I will tolerate it. For example, a large can of tomatoes is 99 cents.
The brands are not recognizable but I am willing to give them a try, since Raleigh friends have told me the quality is good.
BTW, bring a quarter to "rent" a shopping cart. they have paper bags but I brought my own recyclable bags.
Check out is really fast, because they ring you up, placing your items back in a cart. You then go over to a shelf beyond check out and pack the bags yourself at your leisure. This cuts down on time on the line considerably.

Next you need to learn how to trade carts with quarters in the parking lot of somebody just finishing unloading and finished with the carts. Rookies can be easily spotted.

Don't you get your quarter back when you return it?
I'm clearly a rookie.
