Ditto! As well as encountering that in Raleigh, and Morrisville, and Apex... See... snotty rude people are *everywhere,* not only in Cary.

I live in Cary in a very middle class 'hood with no HOA, older homes, neighbors pretty much keep to themselves for the most part. There is absolutely nothing fancy about my neighborhood. Many homes don't even have a garage and (unfortunately) some of the neighbors leave junk out all over the place, particularly the rental houses.

Either way - do not despise. Some of it is quite lovely. Just not for me.
You know, I never understood the jokes about Cary being beige. I've seen homes of all colors here, even in the most expensive neighborhoods.

It's not the homes. A one time Cary had ordinances in place that required businesses to use tan colored signs and buildings...even fast food places that traditionally have bright colored buildings and signs.

Cary reviews sign policy with online survey :: WRAL.com
Yeah. I recall that. I've just seen lots of people make comments about beige, cookie cutter houses.

And it's baffling.

In fairness I've also met the sweetest transplant couple from the Midwest in Cary.

It's a bit difficult to generalize, but my negative experiences have left a permanent black mark and sour taste concerning Cary.
Frankly, your experience is just that, your own and does not reflect the reality that Cary is very similar to Apex, N. Raleigh and even parts of Durham.

It's hilarious when hipsters and far left loonies make the argument that Cary is not diverse. Cary is more diverse than most suburban towns. Must be white guilt creeping in.

So, for all of those worrying that they might be moving in to a scene from the Stepford wives, don't, because its not reality. Just let the bashers keep fueling their false sense of superiority and smile, it makes them feel better about themselves.

Yeah. I'm fairly certain that Cary is more diverse than, say, Cameron Park.

Or Boylan Heights. Not that those places lack diversity. Cary is just entirely more diverse than people think.

Sometimes, I think people fall into this trap that would indicate that diversity is measured solely in terms of whether there are more white people than other ethnic groups.

That's simply not the case.

Hell even if you do want to use that simplistic definition there are parts of Cary where Indians outnumber everyone else

My street is maybe 40% Caucasian...three Indian families, a Moroccan family, a Guatemalan family, a Jordanian family, and more.

And I'm looking out my windows at houses painted blue, yellow, gray, and white, as I write from my gray house with purple shutters.

I live in the older section of Cary and TBH, the part I live in is more diverse than anywhere I've ever seen in the triangle area (and that's taking into consideration that I grew up here!). It's extremely diverse based on race, religion, country of origin, age, socioeconomic status, education level...I love it!
There are PARTS of Cary that are aren't that diverse, but older central Cary is VERY diverse!
