If your kids lips are that chapped, send in the note. I am a teacher and have heard more than my fair share of "requests"- don't let my child drink from the fountain or drink any tap water, don't let my child sit next to any one eating an orange, my child is allergic to sanitizer, my child needs to use these special wipes, please have my child sit somewhere else besides next to this child because they bring smelly lunches and my child can't tolerate, please make sure my child wears their hat each time they go outside. I bet a parent or a few complained and that was why they made the rule. Same reason why we had to sign permission slip to let them watch President Obama address the children in schools.
Interesting how the school had to respond to the health department and that started it all.
