So...hopefully we can get coordinated over the next few days to figure out who's going out WHEN..and on who's boat(s) to where.

I would like to take my son (12 years old) to learn how to fish also. So, I'll have two (either on my boat or someone else's) for the weekend trips. The weekday trips will just be me.

I'm gonna go to Fishin' Franks Fishin' Club meeting tomorrow night at Luigi's, if anyone wants to join.
The topic this month is Redfish. Where to find them, how to catch them, etc. 6:30 start but we best get there early. Tonight's meeting was inadvertently cancelled and there will be a big crowd tomorrow. I plan on going about 5:30 and enjoy a couple beers. They serve dinner specials too.

Would like to go, but I decided flying on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays isn't enough, so this week I'm also flying on Wednesday. Maybe next time.

I go in there on occasion and troll the canals...have caught snook, trout, and huge jacks in those 16' deep channels. The area outside pirate harbor is great for trout, reds and snook. Shallow draft required out there.

It is one of my favorite spots in the harbor. Just learn how to get through or around the bar slow and safe the first dozen times. Every day can be different. Some days I never leave the mangroves other days drift the bar all day. Usually I start up in the mangroves with shrimp or white bait hook and split shot. When the bite stops start fishing the moving water between the mangroves and the harbor. There is a nice trough that lays between the islands and the bar. When the fish have moved out of the shallow they will lay in there. Then drift the bar with a poppin cork and shimp for trout and what ever is hungry. Alot of fish hold right on the first drop off where the bar meets the harbor in about five or six foot of water.

We finally got us a Sticky Fishing Forum! Thanks to the mods for making this happen.

I'm here at the Fishin' franks Fishin' meeting. Standing room only. I got one of the last of 50 seats.

Army Chief, we can wait for Duke if you want to. Not sure who else wants to go. My boat only fishes 2 comfortably, so you and your son should be on your boat. Anyone else interested in trying to organize a weekend group fishing day?
