That was a disgrace last night. My 7 year old son, in gest, offered up a final score of 42-7 Colts, prior to the opening kickoff. He almost nailed it.

The Giants have, even in the Bill Parcells era, struggled against teams that have superior quarterbacking. The bottom line is, even though a lot of reporters are focusing on the defense, the offensive line play on this team has, since the middle of last season, become progressively worse. Kareem McKenzie and David Diehl were just plain awful last night.

Wow, I kind of hear crickets over here. Curious to see the opinions of Giants fans this morning.

Calico, I think it's more of a case of antipathy than anything else. The Eagles have much more passionate, more interested and engaged fans than do the Giants. I think there would be more interest at Giants Stadium if a sandlot baseball game broke out in the parking lot, it would probably empty the stadium. I didn't get a chance to see the Eagles vs the Jaguars yesterday, but I am pretty certain the stadium had at least 20k fans rooting for the Eagles. If the Giants played a road game in the same stadium, there's no way we'd send that many fans.

New York is not a football town, it's a baseball town. I have sadly come to grips over this fact over the past 10-15 years.

Too many mistakes, carelessness, sloppy football. Penalties are a killer, as well as missed field goals. Just poor playing all around. But fear not, Vick will fall apart and show his true overrated colors about halfway through the season as always. Redskins aren't going to do much better. So far Dallas looks as though they have the most potential in the division, but there's a LOT of football to be played between now and January.

You certainly aren't going to get any argument from me regarding Vick. Leopards can't change their spots.

If the Giants front four can generate a pass rush like they did last night the rest of the season, then they are division champs. Just unbelievable. They haven't applied pressure like that since early 2008. Your offense can play on cruise control, as long as there are no turnovers, and you'll still win 13-14 games, if your defense can collapse the pocket the way Canty, Osi, and Tuck did last night.

Mike 0421 is right. That's the best I've seen the Giants look in some time. Solid defense!
