I love the food carts! I live right by the ones on Hawthorne, I think some of them are open until at least 9. + Nice outdoor seating area.

I had seen a Portland market advertised as starting March 5th/6th but I see its called Portland Saturday market....Im guessing that is different than the farmer's market? I guess this gives me more time to check out the food carts along with everything else to enjoy in Portland. Only a few weeks away....I hope the weather wont be too bad.

Saturday Market is a craft-type thing. They have food vendors selling cooked food, but it's not farmers selling what they've grown.

But Saturday Market is well worth a visit, for it's own merits.

Yup, Farmers Market and Saturday Market are different. They're both fun, though!

The Saturday Market is along the waterfront in Old Town and has lots of crafts, artwork, handmade jewelry, etc. The food there, in my experience, was just so-so. A lot of the food vendors were the type you'd find at a state fair or carnival.

Farmers market info can be found at Portland Farmers Market. The PSU location is the main one. Like EnricoV mentioned, it opens 3/19. Here's a photo I took there last summer. :-)

The Cartopia cart pod at SE 12th & Hawthorne seems to be the real late-night hot spot.
there's a really great pizza cart there, + crepes, fries, and burritos
