I will be visiting the Portland area for a few days in early November. Feedback on any of the following questions is greatly appreciated.

1. What will the weather most likely be?

2. I want to stay in a lively or heavily populated area. I can jump on public trans but would prefer to be centralized in downtown or an area that's nice with stores, restuarants, etc. What part of town would this be?

3. I'm a park lover. What's your favorite park there?

Thanks in advance!

1. Cool, cloudy & rainy.

2. Downtown.

3. Too many to choose from. Washington Park, Laurelhurst Park, the Japanese Garden, the Chinese Garden, the South Park Blocks, all are worth visiting.

Don't complain about the weather and don't ask anyone if it is gonna rain, just assume that it could rain. Hotel Modera is a great hotel to stay at. It is modern, yet affordable, right on the MAX lines, and downtown so it is easy to walk anywhere you want. And the list of parks already given are all grear
t options.

What's your budget? If you can afford downtown, stay there. Every means of public transportation right outside your door. If you can't, there are nice hostels all over the inner city neighborhoods near everything. Parks are everywhere too.
