This really isn't an oil Spill. A spill would be an accident.

The oil that is flowing into the ocean right now is due to a company who wanted to make money for oil and who didn't care about the safety of their workers or the consequences that would be faced by Americans and the environment if something happened.

BP is solely responsible for cleaning up this disaster. I hope they're held accountable.

Sadly, this problem is not going to just go away when they get the oil flow stopped.
WHAT exactly is being done for these creatures? Nothing that I can see. In the past, the flurry of activity to set up the facilities for capture of clean-up of birds and other creatures was apparent. Now, it just seems like they are being ignored and left to die.

Financially, yes. As for coordinated the clean-up, containment of oil and the rescue of the creatures effected by the spill...no. The US has the agencies and funds in place already to deal with the latter.

Maybe the lefties should ask their Presidunce more questions as to his role in this and ask him why he was so for drilling more oil?

Do not forget he just announced a few months ago that HE wanted to start DRILLING for more oil of the coast.

But no one is asking him why he was so for it now are they?

Do you mean this Presidunce all of a sudden wanted to drill baby drill and for what reason did he change his mind? $$$$$$$ perhaps?

"Obama told King he would still support off-shore oil drilling 'if it can be done safely' and despite the "unprecedented oil spill" in the Gulf. He also said that the recently expired shallow-water drilling moratorium would not be extended, contradicting a Thursday e-mail sent out by the Minerals Management Service field supervisor for the Gulf of Mexico. The Department of the Interior also said the MMS official was mistaken and the moratorium was not being extended.

"On Thursday, the Obama Administration sent BP and other legally responsible companies a preliminary bill for $69.09 million for response and recovery operations relating to the spill, and announced the firms would continue to bill billed regularly so that the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund was reimbursed on an ongoing basis."

bp's name needs to be changed..!!>> to epic lies..!!!! this is the latest lie 20 percent more oil escaping form bop after stub cut..

bp has done nothing but lie,, read this quote by bp

bp quote" The latest attempt to control the leak is considered risky because slicing away a section of the 20-inch-wide riser could remove kinks in the pipe and temporarily increase the flow of oil by as much as 20 percent. The cap could be placed over the spill as early as Wednesday.

well i have seen every angle of that riser pipe. the 20 inch riser pipe is like 80 to 90 percent kinked, crimped, pinched what ever you want to call it. and last night i watched live the cutting of the riser pipe when the saw got stuck. ok how does one come up with a 20 percent increase.. when the pipe is already 80 percent or more crimped. anybody with some common sence can see the math does not add up. bp is cutting the riser pipe like 8 inches above the flange connection where their are no crimps kinks or pinched areas on the pipe. the area that they are cutting is 100 percent intact with the whole 20 inch diamiter all the way round in circumference so this in it self would add a 80 percent increase at the current rates,, so lets just say one million gallons of oil are leaking every 24 hours. plus the new 80 percent increase in flow when the final cut on the riser is made.. it will increase the flow rate to 5 million gallons a day. or like 5 times the increse per day from current flow rate

that was some tricky wording they did in that bp quote saying it could remove kinks in the pipe........>>> well i can assure you they are removing 100 percent of all kinks, crimps, pinches in the stub cut .. it will release 100 percent of the oil in the gushing well.. just more bp lies when will it stop..!!!!

every time a bp official speaks out for bp someone needs to smack them in the face with a rubber chicken and scream lier lier..!!

that is some realy sad stuff going on with the wild life, it's freakin criminal..

If it can be done safely?

Geez, for decades it has been done safely, but I'm sure obama will figure out a way to get around that.

Contrived "anger" is so transparent.

Um, maybe all future oil rigs will have to have safety devices. Maybe safety will be made a nonnegotiable requirement, whether Republican administrations are in power or not.

Do you know how many drilling plans granted in 2009 WITHOUT getting getting Federal permits ?

This would be 2009 under a Democratic administration.

It doesn't seem to matter which party is in control delusianne, the corruption continues.

This would be the same old Bush era MMS, which the Obama admin is cleaning up as we speak? (That damn al-Times liberal media!)
