Bad things like what? Markets are up. Jobless claims are falling. GDP is going the right way instead of the wrong way. Troops are leaving Iraq.

I don't know if it's time to start singing "Happy Days are Here Again", but things seem okay from my vantage point.

Jobless claims are not falling, GDP is increasing due to GOVERNMENT spending, Home foreclosures are up, markets are no indication of the economy, record deficits, devalued dollar, Troops left Iraq, and went to Afghanistan, yeah, thats exciting I guess..

Obama fault, not at all, its a world wide problem, but dont sit here and pretend things are getting better.. I'll admit its stabling, but better, not yet..

HEY, don't you confuse these people with FACTS. What's the matter with you. You might burst their little Obama bubble and then they couldn't do their Obama babble.

Hey, hater - the FACTS were spelled out a few posts back:

"The first upward tick was 2008. 2007 looks to be about 4 points less than 2006. The polls are taken between Nov. and Feb. Obama was elected in November '08, and was presdent in february '09, when the polling stopped for '08.

(The text of the article says 2007 was the lowest, 28%)"

So the upward trend was based on polling done AFTER Obama was elected President.

Bubble - Burst - FACTS...

I could care less if the world likes us. What's to like anyway? Bowing before foreign dignitarys'? Being threatened that our economy will collapse if we don't pass universal healthcare? Becoming a nation of entitled depandants? Being so politically correct that self expression is prohibited?
Opening the flood gates of immigration to delute our populous with third world benefit recipients?
How can other nations respect us when we don't respect ourselves enough to kick the living crap out of those responsible for 9/11 and their supporters? What's to like about a government that turns a deaf ear to its' citizens demand for justice, accountability and ethics?
What's to like about placating special interest groups instead of serving the majority? Why should a nations' opinion mean anything to us when over 50% of our population doesn't contribute to the tax base? Who could like a country that strives to create diversity to the point that "united" is just a word without meaning?

- we have troops in 135 countries
- we import most of our oil, electronics, and consumer goods
- we have millions of US citizens living and working overseas
- we want to sell our products to other countries
- we don't want other countries to attack us

That's just off the top of my head why we don't want to p-o other countries. It's all well and fine to ***** and moan about ferners when you are sitting in a trailer in Montana, but we still have to get along with others in order to keep our country strong. This country does need a big dose of ethics, accountability and justice - but we can't run and hide from the rest of the world either, or create new enemies just because we have a big army.

As someone who is both a British and US Citizen and spends a lot of time in both countries I can testify that America has a new found respect and admiration since Obama took office. Under the Bush administration I would much of my time during my visits to Europe attempting to justify/defend the attitude and behavior of my country ... Not that I could ever truly justify their actions but I wanted to feel proud of the USA and it was certainly difficult while the previous administration was dragging this countries reputation through the mud.

Actually, if YOU would have looked at the facts you would have realized that the trend didn't start under Bush and that the poster to which you were referring was mistaken. But, it's easier to think we're all mindless sheep.

Have you been following the economy at all? You're trying to tell me we're still shedding almost 800,000 jobs a month?

17,000 new manufacturing jobs. Perhaps Obama's crisis spending wasn't misguided afterall.

Default US Reputation in the world rises sharply

Views of the US around the world have improved sharply

iews of the US around the world have improved sharply over the past year, a BBC World Service poll suggests.

For the first time since the annual poll began in 2005, America's influence in the world is now seen as more positive than negative

Nearly 30,000 people in 28 countries were interviewed for the poll, between November 2009 and February 2010.

Fifteen of the countries have been surveyed every year since 2005, allowing long-term trends to be discerned.

In these nations - or 14 of them, not including the US itself - positive views of the US fell to a low of 28% on average in 2007, from 38% in 2005, but recovered to 35% in 2009 and 40% in this year's poll.
