This guy tried to buck the EPA mandates and give a dose of reality to the loons. Now he is getting walking papers.

"Enstrom charged in 2008 that his colleagues exaggerated the adverse effects of particulate matter in order to justify expensive diesel fuel regulations to the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Enstrom testified in the same year to the state Senate that the lead contributor to the CARB report, Hien T. Tran, paid $1,000 for his Ph.D. from a fake university, and members of a CARB panel had exceeded their mandated three-year term limits by decades. Shortly after Enstrom revealed the misconduct, UCLA began sending him notices of termination and has refused to compensate him for more than a year’s worth of work.

“The facts of this case are astounding,” said David French, senior counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice and one of Enstrom’s lawyers. “UCLA terminated a professor after 35 years of service simply because he exposed the truth about an activist scientific agenda that was not only based in fraud, but violated California law.”

There is no "truth"; this issue. like evolution/creationism, revolves around competing theories, and those theories are subject to a wide degree of interpretation ... it all depends on who's doing the interpreting.

The catch here, as Prof. Enstrom found out, is that one group of zealots is so convinced of their correctness that they seek to harness the power of a state-run institutuion to impose their beliefs on everyone. And both the Secular Left and the Religious Right have substantial constituences geared to "thinking" along those lines.

You can't, not with this topic. The "boy that cried wolf" cried wolf one too many times.
Now both sides of this issue are so tainted with politics that everything has to be questioned.

Damn Gore and his greedy cohorts (GS) who wanted to make a financial killing with the US trading carbon credits.

Cool story. By your logic, we should get rid of capitalism because some people abuse and scam the system. Stanford just got 110 years in prison for his capitalism
crimes....
