The answer to our overcrowded jails. (felons, cost, states, rates)

We could reduce prison overcrowding by offering probation/treatment/community service for low level drug offenders and non violent criminals.

We could further reduce overcrowding by executing PREMEDITATED violent offenders like rapists, murderers, child molestors and known members of hardcore prison gangs like the Aryan Nation and Crips/Bloods.

Think about it... it only takes what... two or three minutes to fry someone in the chair. There are 1440 minutes in a day. If we got started now think how much room we could free up in our jails!

Two words: penal colony
Take all the criminals and deport them to a penal colony on an island we buy in the South Pacific, and not one of the good ones either. There they serve their sentence and fend for themselves. If any of htem are illegal aliens then when their sentence is up their home country has to pay for their repatriation or else they stay there until they die. We don't need their scum in our country.

In theory this is great - in practice, this means that the offender is most likely released into their native country, and then they sneak back into the US within days (or hours). How else can one explain when we read stories of criminals who have been deported by the United States NINE times?

Unless the native country agrees to further incarcerate the criminal in question they'll just slip right back in through our porous border.

The problem that we have with the many illegals taking space in our jails, deport them immediately.As for a location, i think many would be in disagreement of where the right location would be. If too far from family and friends, i think also this would present a problem. For those who commit the less violent crimes, something should be in place for them, less jail time, community service, something where they are not spending too much time in jail, that should be for the more hardened criminals.

We need to be helping people say those in there for drug use get rehab instead. We need to help people be able to get decent jobs when they get out to support themselves and not feel they have no choice but go back to committing crimes.
