I disagree with putting Islamic New Year but this is their right. I know the right wingers are with me on this one. The government has no business telling them what they can and cannot put on their calenders.
right wingers would just say the can put what they want on their calendars and we reserve the right to boycott them for doing so.

a lot of people honor the fallen on pearl harbor day, and it was a tragic day for many american families.

You know the recession is bad when people are complaining about a free calender.

So this is now a right vs left issue ?
The left have no problem with Islamic New Year on their free calendars ?

I see it as American vs non-American.

I did see that Publix pulled all the calendars..no more available and next year will mark 12/7 in honor of Pearl Harbor day.

That's a very offensive comment. Jesus teaches to love your enemies. If people are hating then they are not Christians. Perhaps you're confusing disagreement with hate?

I see it as tolerant vs. intolerant and the right owns intolerance.

How do you know it wasn't a bunch of liberals down in Florida that objected ? You are very quick to turn this to support your political thinking without proof.

I just flipped through my free, unsolicited calendar from the Natl Wildlife Federation. The usual expected holidays are listed, plus Jewish holidays, Islamic holidays, Patriot Day on 9/11, Pearl Harbor Rememberance Day 12/7, plus a few things that are near and dear to NWF such as Earth Day, NWF anniversay on 2/3, Endangered Species day 5/21, and Great American Backyard Campout on 6/26.(They are publishing this, so it's their dime.) It also includes the phases of the moon. So I'd say this has something for just about everyone.

If something that YOU want included on the calendar is not on there, you can print it on your personal calendar for yourself. If something is objectionable, scratch it off. So simple, don't be helpless about this. Once it's in your house, it's yours to do whatever you want with.

With a FREE calendar, the old phrase "Beggars can't be choosers." certainly is the case.

I don't think they were Christians flying the planes on 9/11
