Your absoulutely right.

Without the White American and Spanish American voters Pres.O wouldn't have won. Steele was voted in to be the Black face to criticize Obama.

I thought he would learn to shut up after Limbaugh made a disgrace out of him a while back.

And I love how he told his Republicans critics that they "need to shut up". I'm sure that'll go over well.

Yep.

The next act on stage in the GOP Fun Parade will be when Limbaugh opens his mouth on this topic and we get to see if Steele eats crow again or tells Rush where to go. I can't imagine Rush letting this book tour and GOP bickering go without remark, then again, Rush is more about attacking the DEMs. But if Steele mentions Limbaugh, the slime could really hit the fan. Oh goodie!

At the rate things are going, Steele may be out within days.

There now are reports that people in the GOP are saying Steele is as big an embarrassment as was Larry Craig.

He is giving the Left fodder, which he should not be doing, whether from his book or his comments.

He needs to go, especially with such an important election coming up.

True. It really isn't about beating Obama, it's about what does the GOP stand for and how does the GOP propose to fix all that's wrong at this point in our nation's history and inspire people to follow the GOP's banner. His role in the GOP should be that of leading the hard work of hammering out the way forward for the GOP. If they do that well enough to beat Obama, fair enough, but putting the nation first should be their top priority, the rest will follow.

Yikes. Apparently they don't like hearing the truth. The number one reason they won't take the house or win 2012. By going after Steele, they are verifying that they don't have the capacity to be honest with themselves (about the state of their party.) Oh well....

It's this type of short term thinking that has destroyed your party.

In an even larger context, short term thinking has ruined American business and leaves us in a bad place, like the lack of a good railroad system. Seems that only Warren Buffet is a long term strategic person these days. The bulk of our corporate and government leaders only think about the short term; the next 2-year election cycle, the next quarterly profit report, etc. That's why Steele's book is a failure, it's short term stuff, how to win in 2012, not how to win for all-time.
