Carter: Grandson’s race not reason enough to apologize | JTA - Jewish & Israel News
WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Jimmy Carter is asking the Jewish community for forgiveness -- and insists it’s not simply because his grandson has decided to launch a political career with a run for the Georgia state Senate.

Talk about spin. I understand that you are just posting from the JTA, but your source sucks and so does the spin. Jimmy Carter never asked the Jewish Community for forgiveness. He apologized for anything that he had done that would have offended, which is not the same thing as apologizing for doing something wrong. President Carter stated that " we must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel. As I would have noted at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, but which is appropriate at any time of the year, I offer an Al Het for any words or deeds of mine that may have done so." An Al Het is asking for forgiveness from GOD! Unless the Jewish Community is God then he did not ask for forgiveness from the Jewish Community.

You need to read a few more sources. Better yet actually read the letter yourself. A sampling is attached free of charge. Your welcome.

"Middle East" and "Peace"?

I do remember the group hug between him, Begin(?) and Arafat but I don't remember all of the warring factions ceasing fire over the past 30 years or so.

However, all of his work for Habitat for Humanity should garner him a prize.

Egypt and Israel made peace with each other. At the time it was a huge step towards Middle East peace

Carter is a typical case of a "redneck " antisemite...
He had adopted almost all antisemitic arguments,in the past...
His apology is not honest ,he has not repented & seen the light...

Black is white and up is down to right wing haters.

Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Price and has been a leader with Habitat for Humanity for Decades. He's admired around the World.

Only Israeli apoligists have a problem with him.

"Rightwing hater ", "Israeli apologist "...

The antisem prop has some 10-15 arguments.
All can be succesfully contradicted...

Carter used...almost all of the arguments...

He just has poison in his soul against the Jews...

Imagine what would happen to Israel if Yom Kippur war occured during the Carter Admin...
