I saw Obama's speech at the UN yesterday and I finally saw a US President who recieved a warm welcome and basically took control of the assembly with his speech. He has set the tone for future foreign relations unlike the previous administration did by ignoring the body completely. Is the entire world going to agree with us all the time? No, but this is a instutuion that we had a fundemental part in creating and Obama is shrewd enough to know that by not ignoring it he will have leverage when American interests are at hand.
This entire notion that the UN is bad for America is ridiculous. I really don't care if Quaddafi whines about America or praises Obama. I don't care if Ahmidinnerjacket wants to spew his crap at the podium either. They are the oddballs of the world and everyone knows it.
Obama is a shrewd and a pragmatic man who knows what he is doing and today he got the entire Security Council to agree on his proposal on nuclear weapons.
Dubya couldn't get the Security Council to agree on what to eat for lunch!

In case you haven't noticed it was the pissant little cowboy who embraced Libya, the sponsor of the mass murder of Americans, and allowed the wacko leader behind that bombing to buy his way from guilt, stay in power while deposing a man who did NOTHING to the US my little foolish person.

Did you whine a lot about Bush throwing the American families of the victims of PanAm 103 under the bus? Or were you too busy being a typical NeoConfused hypocrite?

I don't get your post my angry friend. It seems we both agree that Lybia is not a friend of the US.

PS - You do a pretty poor job of communicating in your posts. I guess written communications skills are not your strong point.

20% of the population of Israel is Arab.

Are you suggesting the Lybia is a friend to the US?

True, and good to note too, but I actually am talking about 50-60% of the Jewish population of Israel depending on the source. Many of whom were kicked out of various nations of the Arab world when Israel was formed and that is why they (called Mizrachi Jews) are such a large proportion of the Jewish population of Israel (also due to higher birthrates than Israeli Jews who hail from the West). There's even if you read up about it some "internal bigotry" as well (for example, none of them have ever been Prime Minister, though one has run for it and one has been President).

I was mainly noting it (half-jokingly, given "internal bigotry" but still with a point) because of the point someone made about the Israeli-Palestinian issue being one of white men subjugating people of color.

Very true. I actually think in a similar vein what he did regarding the missle defense was truly shrewd to. The countries we wanted to put them in (though very anti-Russia and pro-US) didn't want it and while I don't fully trust Russia, I trust them a lot more than I do Iran and we are going to need them to contain Amenidijad (forgive spelling).......even much of that guy's own people know he's a crackpot and wish him dead, he's our true threat.

And if Obama is really pro dictators and terrorists, why did he keep Bush's defense secretary and why not instantly pull us out of Afghanistan like the extreme left begs him to do? He knows what he's doing.......and believe me, a "Socialist" wouldn't be someone who the extreme left hates (or at least is starting to hate) almost as much as the extreme right......

Name ONE impeachable offense he's commited that cann be documented with FACT, NOT some Uptighty-Righty blog blather.
Well, for starters, how about failure to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. I realize that may be broad. But I also realize that there is ample evidence. Czars, who are usruping the authority of Congress? Taking over private corporations?

That's just for starters.

It's not that we don't like him. I wish that was the case. His policies are anti-American. Obama, and his friends, have plotted, in a brilliant plan, to "fundamentally change" America. Simply, they are in the process of overthrowing our government. Without firing a shot.
